Bio

I have been told that I was carried out on stage during a curtain call when I was a baby, but I’m not sure I trust those reports. I have the photographic evidence to prove, however, that my first real role was as a giant Ham in a children’s theater production of East of the Sun, West of the Moon. After that auspicious start, I decided for a while that I would have to write my own plays if I didn’t want to get cast as a food product. While other kids were going to soccer games or the beach, I was enlisting all of the neighborhood kids to act in the plays that I put on in my backyard. There followed after that the usual string of children’s theatre, school, community theatre, and finally! professional productions, until I found myself in New York City, where I promptly threw myself into a string of truly strange day jobs and started going to (sometimes truly strange) auditions.

I am a passionate and savvy woman, with a combination of a redhead’s fire and an only child’s contemplative inclinations. I have a dry, sarcastic, and rather British sense of humor, a New Yorker’s drive, a Californian’s mellowness, and a Midwesterner’s warmth. I am a dedicated performer, and I am lucky to have received, and to be still receiving, some of the best training that there is.
